Rajkot: As a part of celebrating Gujarat's
Gulden Jubilee year Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) today
felicitated its former mayors and deputy mayors at its
West Zone office located on 150 ft. ring road.
After coming into existence in 1973 as a Municipal
Corporation nearly 14 mayors including sitting mayor Sandhya
Vyas of BJP were today felicitated.
Former deputy mayors and chairman of RMC standing
committee were also honoured.
On the occasion state finance minister Vajubhai Vala
who was also mayor of RMC twice said mayor from the either
party be it BJP or Congress, has always worked for Rajkot's
progress.
RMC Commissioner Dinesh Brahmabhhatt described city's
progress from 1973 to 2010 and produced RMC's future plan to
tackle city's major issues like shortage of drinking water,
increase in road traffic and to provide basic facility to the
people of the city.
