Ahmedabad: Gujarat BJP Parliamentary
Committee on Sunday held a meeting in state capital of Gandhinagar
to finalise three names to be nominated to Rajya Sabha.

Gujarat has the quota of four seats out of 58 seats in
the Upper House for which election will be held on March 30.

The MPs from Gujarat whose term is coming to end are
Arun Jaitely, Kanji Patel, Vijay Rupani of the BJP and
Pravinchnadra Rashtrapal of Congress.

The notification for the nominations for the March 30
polls will be issued tomorrow.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the
party state unit president and in presence of chief minister
Narendra Modi.

"During the meeting, names of potential candidates for
the three seats were discussed and final list would be sent to
party headquarters in Delhi," BJP spokesperson Jagdish Bhavsar
told PTI without elaborating further.

When asked if the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha
Arun Jaitely would be renominated, a senior BJP member said
that it would be decided in New Delhi. "Our work is to send
the list of potential candidates".

Sources said, with BJP having a no-repeat policy for
its candidates, renomination of Jaitely is in question.
