`RSS should solve differences between Modi, Joshi`

Stating that Sanjay Joshi was an asset to the party, former president of Gujarat BJP, Kashiram Rana, has appealed to the leadership of RSS to resolve the differences between Joshi and chief minister Narendra Modi.

Vadodara: Stating that Sanjay Joshi was an asset to the party, former president of Gujarat BJP, Kashiram Rana, has appealed to the leadership of RSS to resolve the differences between Joshi and chief minister Narendra Modi.

"The world knows about the differences between them and RSS leadership should intervene and resolve the matter," Rana said.

Talking to PTI here today, Rana said, "Joshi’s exit from the BJP is a loss to the party. He had played an important role along with me, Keshubhai Patel, Suresh Mehta and other senior leaders in strengthening the party and bringing it to power in Gujarat for the first time in the 1995 assembly polls."

Rana who was union minister for textiles in the NDA government said Joshi was an asset to the party and should not have been humiliated.

"No individual should be allowed to dictate terms in the party because party is greater than an individual. An individual holds a post because of the party," he observed without naming Modi.

Rana, who is in the dissident camp alongside Keshubhai Patel, also said that BJP has not been projecting Modi as its prime ministerial candidate and it is the media which is projecting him for that post.
