Ahmedabad: RSS on Friday announced to launch a state-wide campaign from tomorrow against Centre's "pre-planned attack" on the organisation for "tarnishing" its reputation.

"There has been a pre-planned attack on the RSS by the Union government which is aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the organisation," Gujarat RSS chief Amrut Kadiwala told reporters here.

He said there was an attempt to get the RSS banned and efforts were also made from international quarters to weaken the Hindu strength in India.

Kadiwala alleged the Centre of using the politics of "misinformation" and implicating influential religious leaders in false cases. He cited Swami Aseemanand, Laxmanand and Shankaracharya of Kanchi as examples.

"It is to counter this false propaganda against the Sangh that this 15-day campaign, a part of the nation-wide programme, is being launched," he said.

Kadiwala said RSS members would go door-to-door, talk to people and make them aware of the facts about RSS and "politics of misinformation".

RSS workers would also meet the community leaders and opinion makers in the society and will discuss various issues on which the RSS was being portrayed wrongly, he said.

When asked why the Sangh was planning a nation-wide campaign if it was innocent and not involved in terror activities, he replied, "This campaign is not because we are worried about the misinformation, but it is to make people aware about the facts."

This state-wide campaign by RSS would begin on January 22 and continue till February 6.
