`Sacked` IAS officer reinstated in Gujarat

DK Rao, who was forced to retire as he was facing an inquiry for graft, was reinstated following a Central Administrative Tribunal order.



Ahmedabad: DK Rao, a 1980-batch Gujarat
cadre IAS officer who was forced to retire as he was facing an
inquiry for graft, was on Saturday reinstated following a Central
Administrative Tribunal order.

"DK Rao is reinstated in service and his services are
placed at the disposal of the Industries and Mines Department
for appointment as member secretary, Gujarat Khadi Gramodyog
Board," an official statement said here.

"Rao shall be relieving Punamchand Parmar, a bureaucrat
holding additional charge of the post," it stated.

Rao had been compulsorily retired from the services as
he was facing an inquiry for corruption during his posting as
acting chairman and deputy chairman of the Vishakhapatnam Port
Trust in 90`s.

His last posting was that of director general, Swarnim
Gujarat.
