Six killed in bus-truck collision in Gujarat

Six persons were killed and 16 others injured seriously when a luxury bus collided with a truck near Bagodara town on Rajkot-Ahmedabad national highway Thursday morning, police said.

highway Thursday morning, police said.

The incident took place on the Vatva-Bagodra stretch of the highway when over 30 people from Bhil community of Rajkot were proceeding to Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu in the bus, they said.

According to police, six persons were killed on the spot, while the injured including the truck driver have been rushed to Ahmedabad civil hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Manoj Chauhan, Arti Muliana, Shailesh Muliana, Vijaya Mackwana, Laxman Mackwana and Rupesh Vaghela.

A complaint for rash driving has been registered against the truck driver and further investigations in the matter was on.
