Ahmedabad: Gujarat government organised
State`s golden jubilee celebrations` spectacular event was
held at Sardar Patel stadium here where around 4,000 artists
performed in various shows.
The event marked the end of two-day celebrations for
the state`s golden jubilee in Ahmedabad and State capital
Gandhinagar, but the celebratory events will now be held in
various districts and block-level.
However, the mega event was marked with huge chaos
which led to cane-charge by police to disperse mammoth crowds
gathered at the stadium`s gates.
Several senior officials, MLAs and media people were
mishandled by the security guards who did not allow them
inside the stadium.
Subsequently, Chief Minister Narendra Modi expressed
regret for inconvenience caused to the people who were not
given entry and were driven out by the security personnel from
the venue.
Modi announced that the programme will be repeated
tomorrow evening and people will be given entry with
invitation cards.
Besides BJP leader L K Advani, Chief Minister Narendra
Modi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan,
Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh were also present in
the function.
