Bharuch (Guj): Two persons were mowed down by a speeding truck on Vadodara-Bharuch national highway near here this morning, police officials said.
The victims, both monks, identified as Nan Shekhar Vijay Maharaj and Hastgiri Maharaj, died on the spot after being knocked down by a speeding truck opposite a farmhouse on the national highway no. 8 near Nabipur village in Bharuch, they said.
The driver fled from the spot after the accident, police said adding they had launched a search for him.
