Anand: An FIR has been filed against nine
men for alleged raping a woman who had come here in search
of job from Dahisar in Mumbai, police said on Sunday.
Complaint was lodged last night against one Laxman
Marwadi and eight others, who are absconding, they said.
According to the police complaint, the woman whose
husband had died seven months ago was asked to come to Anand
for a better job by Marwadi, who was friend of her husband.
When the woman reached here on April 20, Marwadi took
her to a room in basement of a mall, where he and two of his
friends allegedly raped her. She was also threatened by
Marwadi if she told about the incident to anybody.
The next day Marwadi took the woman to various places
in the city and then in the evening forced her into a car of
one Natubhai and Bipinbhai.
Natubhai and Bipinbhai took the woman to a farmhouse
near Chikhodara cross road on the outskirts of the city. Here
the duo and four others raped her number of times during the
night.
She was later handed over back to Marwadi the next day
who threatened to kill her if she intimated the police about
what has happened to her.
Marwadi then sent her with an unidentified person who
let her go after hearing her ordeal over the past couple of
days.
The woman then filed a police complaint with the city
police station against Marwadi, his friends Honda, Urvish and
six others namely Sanjay Parmar, Bipinbhai, Natubhai, Kirit
Patel, Arunbhai and Prakash.
Police said that further investigations were on.
