Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday said a report has been sought from the Gurgaon Divisional Commissioner on the killing of some Sikhs at Hondh-Chillar village in Rewari district during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

"A report on this matter has been sought from the Divisioinal Commissioner," Hooda told reporters here in reply to a question after a state cabinet meeting.

Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had, while speaking at Bathinda on Saturday, said he was "shocked to know the massacre of 70 Sikhs during '84 riots at Hondh village in Rewari district that was suppressed by investigating agencies for 26 long years".

The Badal-headed Shiromani Akali Dal had constituted a seven-member fact-finding committee of SAD on Saturday to get first-hand information on the reported "massacre" of the Sikhs in Rewari district.

I was shocked to hear that about 70 Sikhs were killed in one Haryana village in Rewari Distt. in Nov. 1984 Sikh Genocide. But sadly the Govt. or Media never did or say anything
about this tragedy. And now this is the first time that general public is becoming aware of this tragedy and innocent killings after 26 years. Why no action was ever taken by the Haryana Govt. against the guilty persons involved in innocent killings or some type of Moral or Financial support for the victim families ? Haryana CM Hooda is acting ignorant about this tragedy and now ordering enquiry from the Distt. Commissioner. In 1984 Bhajan Lal led congress was ruling in Haryana. Bhajan Lal is said have played a big role in the 1984 Sikh Genocide. There were reports that truck loads of Haryana congress workers were sent to Delhi to kill innocent Sikhs. In more than 26 years none of these congress leaders had been charged or punished for their crimes. Knowing Bhajan Lal`s role in innocent killings, it doesn`t surprise me that his Govt. completely ignored and covered up the news of this tragedy in Haryana village. But now it has become public and Govt. should take quick action and prosecute and punish Bhajan Lal and his associates. Congress leadership is generally quick to criticise Gujrat CM Modi for his role in innocent killings and demand punishment for Modi. Now we`ll see how the ruling congress leadership reacts against Bhajan Lal`s role and demand punishment for him and his associates.
