Adopt organic farming: Haryana Governor

 Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Thursday called upon farmers of the state to adopt organic farming, saying excessive use of fertilisers and insecticides are affecting the health of people and land fertility.

The government is implementing a number of schemes to promote organic farming in the state, he told reporters during his visit to progressive farmer and National awardee Kushal Pal Sirohi's herbal farm at Chandana village in Kaithal district.

Solanki also stressed on the need to ensure that farmers get remunerative prices for their crops to make farming sustainable and on providing market to farmers for selling their crop.

He said the state government has started a new farmer friendly scheme, under which soil health cards were being prepared. With this, farmers would get information regarding the requirements of soil.
