Asked to pay toll, man opens fire at booth employee in Haryana

An unidentified person opened fire at a toll booth employee and injured him on the Karnal-Meerut road in Haryana's Karnal district on being asked to pay the fee, police said on Thursday.

Chandigarh: An unidentified person opened fire at a toll booth employee and injured him on the Karnal-Meerut road in Haryana's Karnal district on being asked to pay the fee, police said on Thursday.

The accused, travelling in a Bolero, was asked to pay toll before being allowed to proceed, but he opened fire at the employee and left him injured, Karnal SP Pankaj Nain said.

"A case has been registered in connection with the incident. The injured worker has been hospitalised. We are hopeful of making an early arrest in the case," he said.
