BSP activists, family protest murder of Dalit youth

A dharna led by BSP continued at a civil hospital here for the second day on Wednesday over the alleged murder of a dalit youth from Bagla village.

Hisar: A dharna led by BSP continued at a civil hospital here for the second day on Wednesday over the alleged murder of a dalit youth from Bagla village.

Activists of BSP and the family of the youth, Vijay (25), who was allegedly murdered, refused to take his body and demanded Rs 25 lakh to the family as compensation.

Vijay, who worked in a liquor shop, was beaten up by some persons of his village on November 14. Later, he was rushed to a civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday, police said.

Meanwhile, police booked four persons - Sunil, Manoj, Deepak and Vikas, on the charge of murder.

The family of the deceased alleged that police failed to take action against culprits and refused to take the body and raised slogans in protest at the hospital.
 

DSP Vinod Chalia and SDM Ashok Bansal reached the hospital and tried to pacify the agitators.
