Chandigarh: Cold wave conditions swept
Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Friday with minimum temperatures
being up to five degree Celsius below normal.
The lowest minimum temperature of 1.3?C was recorded at
Adampur (Punjab) in the plains.
After Adampur, Ambala in Haryana and Amritsar in Punjab
were the coldest places in the region with 2.4 degrees
Celsius and 2.6 degrees Celsius respectively, which were five
degrees Celsius and one degree Celsius below normal.
Chandigarh had a low of 5.2 degree Celsius, which was
two degrees Celsius below normal, a met office spokesman said.
The met office said cold wave conditions prevailed in the
region. The stations where minimum temperatures have been
recorded as 4C or less include Adampur, Bhiwani, Rohtak and
Narnaul.
Ground frost would occur at one or two places in Punjab
and Haryana during next 48 hours.
