Sirsa: The entire Ellenabad Assembly constituency has been declared highly sensitive and para-military forces will be deployed for free and fair byelection slated for January 20, an EC official said today.

Micro-observers will also be appointed at all polling booths in the constituency.

Central Election Observer for the constituency Vinod Agarwal said 170 micro-observers will be appointed out of which 142 will be posted at polling booths.

The Central observers would keep an eye on the entire election system while micro-observers would keep a watch on their respective polling booths.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Yudhvir Singh Khyaliya said 27 battalions of para-military forces and Haryana Police would be pressed into service to ensure free and fair election.

Bharat Singh Beniwal of Congress is locked in a keen contest with INLD's Abhay Singh Chautala.

The byelection was necessitated after INLD chief and former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala vacated Ellenabad seat following his election from Ellenabad and Uchana Kalan.
