Panchkula: Haryana government is working to create a system under which people engaged in lending a helping hand to those in need would be honoured and rewarded, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering at the Panchkula Marathon 2015 organised by the Haryana Police here, Khattar said that good Samaritans would be honoured as well as rewarded.

The Chief Minister, who also participated in the marathon, described the youth as the future of the nation.

"The country has high hopes from the young generation and they have to play a bigger role in nation-building," he said.

"India has lot of resources as well as robust youth power. If we link youth power with the nation's resources, India has the potential to play the role of Vishwa Guru (universal leader)," he added.

"In this era of technology, we can take the nation far ahead with maximum use of Information Technology," he said.

Khattar said that his government has started a number of IT-enabled services like 'CM Window' for grievance redressal and 'Harsamay' portal of police.

"The government is going to roll-out 22 e-services, including e-Stamping, from May 2, 2015 to ensure prompt delivery of citizen-centric services," he said.
