Chandigarh: The Haryana Cabinet on Thursday decided to convene the monsoon session of the legislative
assembly from August 19.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also approved the proposal of Transport Department for revision of fee for issuance and renewal of stage carriage permits to private operators, an official spokesman said here.
The revised fee for issuance and renewal of stage carriage permits to the private operators will be Rs 10,000 in respect of a full body bus and Rs 5,000 in respect of a mini bus.
In the draft scheme published by the department, a permit fee of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 was proposed to be charged for a bus and a mini bus respectively.
However, after hearing objections and suggestions from the public, the department proposed to fix the permit fee at reasonable levels of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000, he said, adding this would increase the viability of the private buses.
The Cabinet also approved the amendment in the Haryana State Litigation Policy 2010. As per amendment an explanation has been added to clause 7.2 (dealing with the land
acquisition cases) of the Haryana State Litigation Policy, 2010.
As per the amendment approved in the Policy, there will be no restriction for the instrumentalities of the state to be co-appellant in the appeal filed by it.
The Policy also does not restrict the rights of the instrumentalities of the state to engage their own counsel in addition to the state counsel to assist the court in the same appeal, he said.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for the appointment of Jitender Singh Dhillon as sub-inspector in
Haryana Police against direct sports quota. Dhillon, a body builder, is an outstanding sportsperson of international level.
