Manesar: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder
Singh Hooda today said he was not in favour of marriage in the
same subcaste, toeing the line of Khap panchayats or
self-style caste councils which have demanded a ban on it.
"Not allowing marriage in the same gotra is
part of our customs.... It is not limited to any particular
caste," he told reporters on the sidelines of a programme.
In Rohtak yesterday, Hooda had expressed similar
sentiments saying "marriage within the same gotra is not
