Haryana: Congressmen block traffic over killing of commission agent

 Congress workers, led by senior party leader and local MLA Randeep Surjewala, today blocked traffic at Pehowa Chowk here for about two hours to protest the alleged failure of the police to arrest the killer of an commission agent of New Grain Market.

The commission agent Munish was shot dead when he was trying to stop a criminal who was escaping after snatching Rs 1.70 lakhs from an Accountant of an another agent in New Grain Market on May 18.

The Congressmen, alongwith commission agents of grain markets including those owing allegiance to other political parties, also took out a procession in the town and sat on 'dharna', demanding immediate arrest of the killer.

The protesters assembled at Agrasen Dharamshala near new grain market where Surjewala while addressing the gathering said that if the government failed to bring the culprit to the book within 48 hours, his party would hold demonstrations all over the state.

He demanded the status of martyr for Munish Mittal who had sacrificed his life while trying to catch a person who had attacked his neighbour, a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the family of the deceased and government job for a member of Munish's family.
