Chandigarh: An aircraft carrying Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia crashed immediately after taking off from an airport here, a report said on Thursday.
The plane was barely 15-20 feet in the air when it went down. A fire broke out in the aircraft but it was not immediately clear what caused the accident and whether the blaze preceded or followed the crash.
Airport sources said the governor was pulled out of the plane and rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Doctors let him go after medical examination.
The Haryana government plane had five or six people on board. No one suffered serious injuries in the accident, the sources said, adding the aircraft suffered extensive damage though.
The governor was flying to New Delhi when the accident happened.
