Haryana govt pays over Rs 4,100cr to land owners

The Haryana government has paid a compensation of Rs 4,173.66 crore to the land owners for requiring 16,362.595 acres of land.

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has paid
a compensation of Rs 4,173.66 crore to the land owners for
requiring 16,362.595 acres of land.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana
Urban Development Authority (HUDA) said that in addition to
the compensation, the land owners are being rehabilitated, by
way of allotment of plots under oustees policy.

Residential plots upto a maximum size of 350 square yards
and commercial booths for re-employment and livelihood of land
owners are allotted to them.

Annuity amount Rs 15,000 per acre per annum is being paid
to the land owners with increment of Rs 500 per year upto 33
years.

An annuity of Rs 39.51 crore has been authorised, out of
which Rs 19.74 crore has already been disbursed to the land
owners upto March 31, 2010, he added.

He said that in addition to the above, 2,478.20 acres of
land stood notified under Section-4 and 88,42.95 acres under
Section-6 of the Land Acquisition Act.

The further process of acquisition would be undertaken,
as per provision of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and
priority by HUDA for acquisition of land.

While, referring to the development work undertaken by
Huda, he said that for providing better infrastructure and
other community facilities to its allottees, the Huda has
spent Rs 3,185.85 crore from March 2005 to February 2010.

Also, possession of 39,345 plots has been offered to the
allottees, he added.
