Haryana govt suspends Gurgaon DCP (Traffic)

 Haryana government today suspended Gurgaon's Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vinod Kumar Kaushik for allegedly misusing his position and a departmental enquiry ordered into the incident.

Chandigarh: Haryana government today suspended Gurgaon's Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vinod Kumar Kaushik for allegedly misusing his position and a departmental enquiry ordered into the incident.

Gurgaon Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk informed that several complaints were received that one Raghuraj Tyagi, a resident of Badshahpur in Gurgaon and allegedly known to DCP Traffic Vinod Kaushik, was acting as his tout in matters of postings in Traffic Wing of Gurgaon Police.

An inquiry was launched into the allegations by the Joint Commissioner of Police.

The findings confirmed that the allegations were correct stating that 22 traffic police personnel were posted at lucrative posts in the alleged manner, police said.

Upon receipt of the enquiry report, these 22 personnel were transferred out from Traffic Wing to the Police Lines on June 22, he said.

The DGP Haryana forwarded the case to state government for action, upon which Vinod Kaushik, DCP Traffic was put under suspension and a departmental enquiry was ordered against him, Virk added.
