Chandigarh: Haryana Assembly Speaker H S
Chatha today revoked the suspension of Opposition members, a
day after they were suspended for the remainder of the ongoing
budget session for unruly behaviour.
"Keeping in view the sense of the House, I have
revoked their suspension and now they can come to the Assembly
tomorrow. I conveyed this on telephone to (INLD chief Om
Prakash) Shri Chautala and Ashok Arora (INLD's state unit
head)," Chatha told PTI over phone.
He said that moving any resolution to this effect by
the House was not necessary as it was the "sense of the
House".
Yesterday, the Assembly had suspended them with
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala moving
the resolution in this regard.
Meanwhile, earlier today the INLD and BJP, who were
suspended from the Haryana Assembly, had sought the
Governor's intervention in getting their suspension revoked.
The INLD MLAs, three BJP legislators and lone SAD
member led by Indian National Lok Dal supremo Om Prakash
Chautala met Governor Jagannath Pahadia at the Raj Bhavan here
and submitted a joint memorandum to him on the issue.
