Chandigarh: A state litigation policy cell
will soon up come in Haryana to reduce the pendency of cases
and control avoidable litigations in courts.

The decision was taken in the first meeting of the State
Level Empowered Committee held under the chairpersonship of
Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati here on Friday.

Haryana government had announced its litigation policy to
reduce the pendency of cases and make an effective system to
deal with such cases at the department or state level for
prevention and control of avoidable filing of litigations in
courts.

It was decided that all the departments would be directed
to furnish the list of the pending legal cases with a synopsis
by May 10, 2011 to the Committee and appoint nodal officers
with legal background in their departments by April 21, 2011
to coordinate the report on legal cases with the Advocate
General office as well as with the State Level Committee, an
official spokesman said here.

The departmental and district level Committees would also
submit reports and data of grievances redressed to the
Committee through these nodal officers to avoid litigation.
