Hazare issue: Uproar in Haryana Assembly

Agitated BJP members raised the Anna Hazare issue as soon as the House met for the day demanding suspension of Question Hour.

Chandigarh: Pandemonium prevailed in the Haryana Assembly on Tuesday with opposition BJP creating ruckus in the House on the issue of Anna Hazare`s fast and a BJP member had to be marshalled out for defying the Chair.

Agitated BJP members raised the issue as soon as the House met for the day and demanded immediate suspension of Question Hour to discuss the corruption issue.

When BJP Legislature Party Leader Anil Vij insisted that the House take up the Hazare issue first, Speaker Kuldeep Sharma did not oblige and took up the first listed question.

This led to strong protests from the BJP benches and unruly scenes prevailed for nearly 40 minutes.

While some BJP members had national flags pinned on their clothes some others, who rushed to the Well raised slogans like `Vande Mataram` and `Bharat Mata Ki Jai`.

The repeated pleas by the Speaker, that they should not hold the House to ransom went unheeded.

As the ruckus continued, the Speaker asked marshals to evict Vij from the House. As the marshals took Vij out, other BJP members walked out in protest.

Earlier, the House paid tributes to five persons killed in an accidental fire at a cracker factory in Karnal yesterday.
