 Hot weather conditions prevailed in most parts of Haryana and Punjab on Saturday, even as few areas in the states received rainfall.

Chandigarh: Hot weather conditions prevailed in most parts of Haryana and Punjab on Saturday, even as few areas in the states received rainfall.

According to MeT department here, Union Territory Chandigarh recorded a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala recorded maximum temperature of 39.1 degrees, two notches above normal while Karnal settled at 37.4 degrees Celsius.

Hisar, which received rainfall of 2 mm, had a high of 37 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. Narnaul also received rainfall measuring 18 mm.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded maximum temperature at 40 degrees, two notches above normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded 38.6 degrees and 38.4 degrees respectively.

The Met has predicted dry weather conditions in Punjab and Haryana for the next 24 hours.
