Massive pile-up on National Highway 1 near Karnal, 4 dead

Karnal: Dense fog that engulfs North India in winters has once again led to a massive pile-up on the National Highway 1, four people lost their lives in the accident.

The accident occurred early on Wednesday in Nilokheri near Karnal in Haryana after a truck broke down in the middle of the busy highway and another vehicle hit it from the rear. Soon, 30-40 vehicles piled up in the foggy conditions.

The four who lost their lives were traveling in the same car.

A similar pile-up had occurred in Karnal when 24 cars pileup behind a cra that had crashed into some construction equipment.

The Noida-Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway which connects Greater Noida to Agra are also infamous for the big pile-ups every winter.
