Jhajjar: Taking a serious note of the alleged gangrape of a minor girl by two policemen and four others, Haryana DGP has sought an action taken report from
Jhajjar SP in the case.
DGP Ranjeev Singh Dalal has sought to know from SP Patram
Singh what action has been taken by the police so far in the
case which took place on June 14, officials said.
Six persons, including two policemen, had allegedly raped
a 13-year-old girl at Bahadurgarh area here on June 14. The
next, the victim`s father lodged a police complaint against
unidentified youths, accusing them of abducting and raping her
daughter. Initially the police had said the girl had willingly
gone with her friend Vipul and had concocted the story,
fearing her family.
However during investigation, six men, including
constable Rakesh and head constable Mahender Singh, were found
involved in the case.
The two policemen were later suspended. While Rakesh has
been arrested, Mahender is still absconding. The four other
accused - Vipul, Ravi, Ajay and Sandeep - were also arrested.
The officials said the DGP also directed the SP to
expedite the probe in the case and sought to know what steps
have been taken by the police to nab Mahender.
"Raids are being carried out at possible hideouts of
Mahender but he is still out of police net," the SP said.
