Sonepat: Gangsters allegedly involved in the loot of passengers travelling in the New Delhi- Panipat-Meerut train have been arrested, Government Railway Police said on Monday.

GRP sources said here that the three arrested gangsters have been identified as Shiv Kumar, Amit and Sonu, all from Tajpur village of Panipat district.

GRP has also recovered Rs 1,500 cash from Kumar which he had looted from the passengers.

One of the gangsters had left his mobile phone with its SIM card and ID intact inside the train while fleeing, which helped the police to solve the case, GRP sources claimed.

The New Delhi bound train was ferrying 19 labourers of Bihar, who were returning from Punjab. They were injured and looted by a group of armed gangsters between Rathdhanna and Narela railway stations on the night of November 25.

Case solved...but what about the tension and terror experienced by the passengers during the course of loot...Railway Police should ensure that such incidents donot recur...Inspite of availablity of lot of ``Resources`` they allow such incidents to occur...
