Patiala: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak
Committee will campaign for Indian National Lok Dal, as well
as Shiromani Akali Dal candidates for the coming Haryana
Assembly elections.

SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar today said here that
Since SAD has entered into an alliance with INLD in Haryana,
being an Akali it was his duty to campaign for INLD and SAD.

Talking to reporters here, he said that Congress
government in Haryana has been "dividing Sikhs on the issue of
separate gurudwara management committee, it was our duty to
canvass against the divisive policies of the Congress."

Asserting that SGPC had been paying special attention to
development and maintenance of Sikh shrines in Haryana, Makkar
said that funds collected from Haryana gurudwaras had been
spent on maintenance of these shrines.
