Chandigarh: A teenager has been booked here for allegedly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her.
The 18-year-old accused, a labourer, took the girl to Delhi where he raped her, Ropar SSP Inder Mohan Singh said today.
Girl's father had lodged a complaint with the Ropar police about the abduction of her daughter a couple of days back, following which a search was launched, he said.
The accused was arrested in Ropar last night when he returned back from Delhi with the victim, he said.
"The girl's medical examination has confirmed sexual assault. We have booked the boy for kidnapping, rape and other charges," Singh said.
