Moga (Punjab): Dismissing Punjab government's claim of discrimination by the Centre, Union minister Manish Tewari on Saturday asked it not to be "crying wolf" and instead concentrate on reviving the "poor state of economy".

Tewari, who was here to address a public meeting in support of the party candidate Vijay Sathi, said, "The Akalis were most ungrateful when they accused the Centre of discrimination as their government was surviving only with the grants provided by it".

He claimed the state is granted enough financial aid, but Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal always "cried wolf" that the Centre was discriminating with it.

Referring to the "poor state of economy" in Punjab, the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister said that under the last six years of SAD-BJP regime, the state had gone down from sixth to twelfth place in the development index.

"Is this the development they are claiming to have done?" he asked, while appealing to the people of Moga to ensure the victory of the Congress candidate.
