Two Haryana constables suspended in gang rape case

Two Haryana police constables were suspended and four youth arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl, police said.

Jhajjar: Two Haryana police constables
were suspended and four youth arrested for allegedly raping a
teenage girl, police said on Friday.

Constable Rakesh of Rohtak and head constable Mahender
Singh of Hisar have been suspended. Rakesh has been arrested,
however, the head constable is still absconding, Jhajjar SP
Patram Singh said.

Four other youths Vipul, Ravi, Ajay and Sandeep were
arrested and have been sent to judicial custody by the court.

On June 15, Trimal Singh, father of the 13-year-old
girl allegedly gang raped lodged a complaint against
unidentified youths and accused them of abducting and raping
the girl in a white car.

However, police investigation revealed that the girl
had not been abducted but had willing gone with her friend
Vipul.

She had concocted the story after she returned home,
fearing her family, SP Singh said.

After investigations, the involvement of two
policemen- Rakesh and Mahender in the gang rape came to light.
