Familial gene mutation immortalizes deadly skin cancer
An Indian origin scientist and his team analyzed the genomes of 14 family members who were affected by malignant melanoma and found an identical mutation in the gene for telomerase, an enzyme often called ‘immortality enzyme’, in all persons studied.
