New Delhi: Fractured penis? Yes, you read it right. Recently, a 32-year-old man from Delhi unfortunately has gone through what every man fears.

The Delhi-based man fractured his penis with a snapping sound during vigorous sex.

According to a report in The Indian Express, he was brought to a hospital with a penile injury — classified as an ‘eggplant deformity’ by a medical journal — caused during vigorous sexual intercourse.

The case of fractured penis was recently published in detail in the BMJ Case Reports medical journal.

“A 32-year-old man was presented to our emergency department with pain, swelling and a dorsal curvature in his penis. He had severe pain and lost tumescence with a snapping sound during vigorous sexual intercourse. Taking the typical history and examination findings into account, the diagnosis of penile fracture was made,” says the journal entry as per reports.

As per the article, penile fracture occurs when an erect penis undergoes a blunt trauma during sexual intercourse or otherwise, bending the penile shaft and causing a tear or rupture.

It should be identified and surgically explored at the earliest to avoid painful erections or erectile dysfunction.
