500 take part in Walkathon for cancer survivors

More than 500 people including cancer survivors, doctors, students participated in a "Walkathon" for cancer survivors organised in the city today on occasion of World Cancer Day.

 Kolkata: More than 500 people including cancer survivors, doctors, students participated in a "Walkathon" for cancer survivors organised in the city today on occasion of World Cancer Day.

Organised by the DS Research Centre, the 'walkathon' was based on the theme of the initiative "Together We Can" with the objective to save the world from cancer with the assistance of treatments based on the science of nutrient energy, raising awareness and education about cancer on the occasion of World Cancer Day.

The day also witnessed a special motivational session for the cancer patients highlighting the importance of "togetherness" to fight with cancer and win over it, creating awareness about the role of the different types of treatments at the centre.
