New Delhi: In order to provide state-of-the- art trauma care services, AIIMS has joined hands with the National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) for the building of the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre Phase-II at the premier medical institute.

Approximately 15 acres of land will provide the plot for the upcoming trauma centre, which will have 2,250 beds and have extended treatment facilities for digestive diseases, head and neck surgery, spine treatment, organ transplant, etc. Besides a control room for effective coordination and communication, the facility will have networking linkages with other hospitals and agencies.
A helipad will be built on its roof top so that critically -injured patients can be air-lifted for immediate medical attention.
"NBCC would also participate in the massive restructuring of AIIMS infrastructure, including the redevelopment of AIIMS residential complexes in its Western Campus and Ayurvigyan Nagar," said Mittal.
