Blueberries may stave off Alzheimer's

A test conducted by researchers found out some kind of improvement in older adults who had mild cognitive impairment, which is a risky factor for Alzheimer's.

New Delhi: If researchers are to be believed, Blueberries taken in powder form could help in keeping Alzheimer's at bay. It was found that the fruit, which is known for its multiple health benefits may protect you against ageing brains.

A test conducted by researchers found some kind of improvement in older adults who had mild cognitive impairment, which is a risk factor for Alzheimer's.

Magnetic resonance imagining brain scans have also displayed an elevated brain activity in people who consumed blueberry powder. It is also claimed that the fruit is packed with antioxidants and helps in lowering the risk of heart disease.

Further to this study, scientists are now thinking about conducting a similar study with a younger group of people.
