Winters are here and its time to brace ourselves against the cold but one must also keep in mind to fight off the allergens this season in order to stay fit, healthy and be able to enjoy the wonderful season winter is!

Here's how to keep allergies at bay:

Personal hygiene

As soon as winter strikes, one must not just take out their winter wear from the cupboard and wear directly. They must be washed and dried thoroughly before use.

After washing your inner clothes with a normal detergent, don't forget to dip them in an anti-bacterial liquids like Dettol.

Bedroom hygiene

Bedsheets and pillow covers must be washed and dried under the sun to avoid allergies.

Soak your mattresses and carpets in the sun for a few hours. Sunlight has the power to destroy bacteria with its ultraviolet rays. It's the most cheap and convenient way available to us. But in case the cloud spell lasts longer, then it's better to vacuum the rugs and mattresses twice a week at least.

Bathroom hygiene

Any place where there's no scope for direct sunlight to reach, gets all the unwanted visitors. Bacteria and fungus grows on the walls much faster than we think. Therefore, no matter which season it is, one must keep the washrooms clean, dry and sanitised.

Scrub dry the stains as it can turn into a mold infestation.

Keep the windows open after every bath so that fresh air flows in.

Pet care

Pet owners must be specially attentive to their pet's hygiene as pets can play a major role in bringing infections home.

Wash your pets feet after a walk.

Keep them clean with daily spray-washes / hot water wipes as they should not be bathed that frequently.

Make sure to keep their living area clean and well sanitised.
