Washington: A drug originally designed to treat diabetes could also work against cancer, say researchers.In a new study, a team of scientists at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies has found that phenformin, a derivative of the widely-used diabetes drug metformin, decreased the size of lung tumors in mice and increased the animals` survival.
