Swine flu claimed six more lives in Gujarat today, taking the toll due to H1N1 virus infection to 353 since January this year, an official release said.

Ahmedabad: Swine flu claimed six more lives in Gujarat today, taking the toll due to H1N1 virus infection to 353 since January this year, an official release said.

Apart from these deaths, 89 new cases of swine flu were recorded across the state Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 5,803.

"Gujarat has reported six swine flu deaths today, taking the total number of deaths to 353, while 89 new H1N1 cases were reported today," the release said.

Out of these six deaths, two were reported in Ahmedabad, while Surat, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Junagadh district registered one death each, the release said.

The state government also claimed that 4,572 patients have been cured till date.
