The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has organised the international conference on "Recent Advances in Diabetes and Endocrinology".

The event was organised by the university`s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in collaboration with Apollo Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology, New Delhi.

Prof. Hasnain of the AMU said that diabetic disorder has developed into a complex syndrome involving all vital organs of the body, and its management and treatment required an inclusive and comprehensive strategy. He said it should not be treated as an isolated disease.
AMU vice chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah said that diabetes is a lifestyle disease and can be managed without any medication if people led a disciplined life and undertook physical exercise on a routine basis.
