London: In what`s being claimed as a keybreakthrough, scientists have found a cure for acne -- breastmilk and coconut oil.
"It`s a good feeling to know I have a chance todevelop a drug that could help people with acne which afflictsmore than 85 per cent of teenagers," the British newspaperquoted lead scientist Dissaya Pornpattananangkul as saying. She has also created a sophisticated delivery systemthat keeps lauric acid active until it is applied to the skinand can target the acne, based on "nanoparticle bombs" --microscopically small chemicals in the cream.
Professor Liangfang Zhang, who helped with research, said: "Precisely controlled nanoscale delivery of drugs couldsignificantly improve treatment of skin bacterial infections."PTI
