Washington: Elderly who eat food high in carbohydrates and sugar have nearly four times the risk of developing dementia, a new study has claimed. Mayo Clinic researchers found that those aged 70 plus who consume a lot of protein and fat relative to carbohydrates are less likely to become cognitively impaired.
