Coimbatore: A city-based gastro enterology hospital, in association with philanthropists and the public, is setting up a forum to create awareness about ill-effects of obesity and to emphasise the preventive aspects of related diseases.Initialy named as Kovai Obesity Foundation, the forum would provide education on treatment of lifestyle disorders like diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemias and mostimportantly, obesity. It would also conduct awareness campaigns, programs rallies and medical camps, Dr C Palanivelu, Diretor, GEM Hospital and Research Centre andManaging Trustee of the proposed foundation, told reporters here today.The foundation would be inaugurated by Tamil actor Sivakumar on Oct 23 on the eve of World Obesity Day, falling on Oct 24, he said.
