Research project for developing anti-malaria drug
Moga (Punjab): In view of the increasing cases of malaria among jawans, the Ministry of Defence has approved a project to develop a new anti-malarial drug, conducted by two professors of a local pharmacy college here.
"The Life Science Research Board under the Defence Research and Development Organisation has entrusted two professors from our college with the task of developing an effective anti-malarial drug," said Praveen Garg, Chairman of Indo-Soviet Friendship College of Pharmacy.He said the Board had sanctioned a sum of Rs 26.98 lakh for the research conducted by the two professors, TR Bhardwaj and RS Murthy.



Malaria is a common infectious disease with an estimated mortality of 1.5 to 2.7 million people every year.
