`Swine flu is curable`
Hyderabad, June 09: Urging people not to panic, a
medical student who has been cured of the H1N1 influenza and discharged from a government hospital here on Tuesday said swine flu is "not dangerous...It is very much curable".
Reyhan Syed, the second-year student of Deccan Medical
College here, was India`s second confirmed case of swine flu.
He was undergoing treatment at the Andhra Pradesh government
Chest Hospital since June 1 after his return to the city by a
Toronto-London-Hyderabad flight on May 30.

Reyhan, who skipped screening at the Rajiv Gandhi
International Airport set up to check passengers coming from
other countries for swine flu symptoms, developed fever and
reported to the hospital on June 1.

"I went directly home from the airport. I think I got
contracted to the swine influenza either in Canada or London.
I had taken some medicines at the Heathrow Airport in London
for cold," Reyhan told reporters here.

"I want to tell people not to panic in case they are
diagnosed with H1N1 flu. Swine flu is curable. I am fine and
feeling fresh and will be joining college tomorrow," he said.

However, people with fever and other flu-like symptoms
should consult the doctor, he said.

So far, 11 confirmed cases of swine flu have been
reported in India, of which seven are from Andhra Pradesh,
including the country`s first human-to-human transmission of
the disease.
