Washington: The US Food and Drug Administration approved Friday a new treatment for AIDS which, used with other antiretroviral medications, blocks the reproduction of the HIV virus that causes the disease.Developed by Johnson & Johnson, TMC278, also known as rilpivirine, is especially for patients who have never begun HIV treatment, the FDA said in a statement.J&J will market the drug under the name Edurant.

The weather office said showers were likely to continue throughout the day.Saturday`s minimum temperature was recorded at 26.1 degree Celsius, average for this time of the season.
The maximum temperature, which has been above 40 degrees during the week, is expected to be around 37 degrees."The sky will remain cloudy and rain and storms are expected through the day," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
According to the IMD, the storm and cloudy conditions are due to upper air circulations that developed over Punjab and Haryana over the last few days.IANS
