Vaccination drive to stop spread of swine flu in Chennai
Chennai: In the wake of frequent swine flu deaths in the state, Tamil Nadu Government on Monday launched a vaccination programme to curb the spread of H1N1 virus.

The programme, claimed to be implemented for the first time in the country for administering Nasovac and Vaxiflu to the public, was launched by Health Minister M R K Paneerselvam at Kings Institute of Preventive Medicine here.
The charge for the vaccination was Rs 150 per person, officials said. The government had also initiated a plan to vaccinate government hospital staff free of cost, they said.

It is also planned to setup more such vaccination centres with the help of private companies if need arises. During the last one week, three swine flu deaths were
reported in the state.
