100 per cent hike in HRA of Himachal employees

Himachal Pradesh cabinet on Wednesday approved a 100 per cent hike in House Rent Allowance (HRA) of its employees.

approved a 100 per cent hike in House Rent Allowance (HRA) of
its employees.

The decision implements a decision taken at the meeting
of Joint Consultative Committee with employees on January 31.

Coming into effect from March 1 this year, the decision
would put an additional financial burden of Rs 100 crore on
the state exchequer, an official spokesman said.

The cabinet also decided to slash the VAT from 13. 75
percent to 5 percent on fuel cakes (Biomass Briquettes) made
from solid waste procured from any local self government or
from any person under Himachal Pradesh Value Added Tax Act,
2005.

It adopted the policy with regard to setting up of micro
hydel projects with a capacity upto 100 KV providing for
consideration of the application only if the generation was
for captive use or direct third party sale locally.
